Founded in 1953, 15MCC holds the special-grade (top-tier) general contracting qualifications for metallurgical construction, dual Class-A (top-tier) qualifications for metallurgical architectural engineering design, and seven first-class general contracting licenses for construction. The company has a strong track record in the mining and metallurgical sectors, having completed over 160 mining projects—spanning nonferrous metals, metallurgy, coal, and gold—as well as more than 180 metallurgical projects. It has received six Luban Prizes, China's highest honor in architecture and designing, along with 15 National Quality Engineering Awards and 96 provincial and ministerial-level awards.

15MCC has participated in the construction of 70 percent of China's copper smelting capacity, seven of the world's nine "double flash" copper smelters, as well as six of the world's eight copper smelters with an annual output of 400,000 tonnes. The company aims to become a world-class copper smelting engineering service provider and an industry-leading provider of comprehensive services for mines. It strives to build full-chain service capabilities covering geological survey, mine surveying, ore extraction, beneficiation, tailings management, ecological restoration, and digital operations, and establish an integrated service model encompassing investment, design, construction, procurement, and operations.

The TBM project at the Lead, Zinc, Silver Mine (mine shaft construction project) in Yinzhushan Mining Area, located in east China's Jiangxi Province, was the first in the nonferrous metals industry to use a tunnel boring machine (TBM) with an ultra-small turning radius for the development of a tunnel between the -140 m and -190 m level (including special inclined shafts for construction). The total development length is 3.15 kilometers, with a tunnel diameter of 3.53 meters. The TBM, with an overall length of 62 meters, is suitable for tunnel construction with a minimum turning radius of 30 meters and a gradient of ±15 percent for both uphill and downhill sections.

Mirador copper concentrator project in Ecuador
Mirador copper concentrator project in Ecuador, a world-class copper mine with an annual ore processing capacity of 20 million tonnes, was fully invested in, designed, constructed, and operated by Chinese company. The project is equipped with two Φ7.9×13.60 m overflow ball mills and two Φ10.97×5.4 m semi-autogenous mills. It is recognized as a model for Chinese nonferrous mining operations overseas.
The No. 5 Tailings Pond at the Dexing Copper Mine
The No. 5 Tailings Pond at the Dexing Copper Mine, located in Dexing city, east China's Jiangxi Province, is the largest tailings storage facility in Asia. It features a designed total capacity of 1.0313 billion cubic meters, a dam height of 222 meters, a daily tailings processing capacity of 126,000 tonnes, and a total area of 13.41 square kilometers.
